One of the most exciting things we get to do here at Cfx is assist companies with rebranding efforts. Updating a company and/or brand’s look and feel gives Cfx more than just a creative stake in the brand’s appearance, it gives us stake in the overall success of the brand by giving it an aesthetic that surpasses that of its competition. One of Cfx Inc.’s longtime clients, Luxco, often reaches out and enrolls the creative know-how of Cfx when their brands are in need of a refresh (as the industry calls it) to help the brand become relevant in categories that are constantly welcoming new brands and new varieties to the shelf.
For decades, David Nicholson® was primarily only available in Missouri and Illinois, and had no variants of the flagship brand, 1843®. This year marks a shift in the winds for this historical brand with updated packaging, its first ever website, and an all new variety being added to the brand family, David Nicholson® Reserve. Earning Double Gold two years in a row at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, David Nicholson 1843® has been gaining traction and recognition in the bourbon community. Aligning with the addition of a new extra-aged rye bourbon, David Nicholson® Reserve, Luxco wanted an update to the David Nicholson’s packaging to make the brand look and feel as premium as the bourbon inside the bottle, and Cfx was up to the task. By giving the David Nicholson bottles new labels, fire-branded natural corks, matte finish capsule closures, and custom embossing on the shoulder of the bottles, the new and improved look of the growing David Nicholson® family offers a sleek, upscale look that more accurately coincides with the brand’s history and reputation.
